In the wake of COVID-19, many small businesses are shifting to remote customer service or telework practices. Small business owners must be aware of the increased risks of cyber threats and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Join the Maryland Women’s Business Center and the Bowie Business Innovation Center (BIC) for a free informative presentation from Canfield Cyberdefense Group, a woman-owned small business and affiliate member of BIC.

Topics to be address include:

  • Cyber attacks on small businesses utilizing Email and Social Media. This effects everyone from the CEO to the janitor.  How their behaviors allow attackers to gain access and destroy businesses. Information ranges from stealing credit cards to personal information (names, phone numbers, postal addresses, e-mail address, etc).
  • Costs that severely impact small businesses. The legal cost and all hidden costs that hackers cause can be costly even resulting in destroying small businesses.
  • Prevention and a cost effective solution. How to protect you and your business. What you need to know as a business leader.  You are the hackers target. You have your business at stake. You need to know steps to protect and defend…  personally and with software help.

Please note: Women and men are invited to attend our training workshops. Pre-registration is required. You will receive a link to the Zoom meeting upon registration. If this is your first time using Zoom, we recommend that you log on a few minutes early as you may need to install the Zoom app.
