Critical Flaws of Zoom Video Conferencing Software that are Prone to Attackers

Many individuals have resorted to using Zoom, especially since the beginning of this pandemic which has created restrictions in schools, businesses, and social activities. This warning/advice comes as a result of two newly found critical vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities were discovered by cybersecurity researchers in Cisco Talos. These vulnerabilities enable attackers to disrupt group chat participants or individual recipients.

These defects are path traversal flaws that attackers can take advantage of to insert infected files on the systems and computers of users who still run the vulnerable versions of the software. The malicious code would then be executed.
